Our ancient history begins from Brahmaji, as per Vedas and Purans there are seven Rishi (manas  sons) of Brahmaji they are called “Saptarishi”. There names are Marichi, Atri, Angira, Pulastya, Pulah, Kutu & Vashishtha.

There was Brahmarishi Angira on the top  among seven sons. According the Founders of sciences in Ancient India --Brahmarishi Angira first discovered the fire, when there was no alternate of light & heat except Sun. Brahmarishi Angira was married with Daksha putri Smriti. There were two sons named as Bharatagni & Kirtiman and four daughters named as Sinwali, Kuhu, Raka & Anumati from Smriti.

Later on during the Chakshusha Manu Kaal, Angira was born from Uroo. He won the earth in war and ruled on the post of Indra. Due to being unbeatable commander he gain the name "Jangid Rishi". Also According to AtharvaVeda, Angira is Jangid. Maharishi Angira was married with two Prachetas Daksha Prajapati daughters named as Sati & Swadha. Maharishi Atharva was born from Devi Sati.


Founder of Jan Parishad ---
In Aryians the first election of Jan Parishad was done by Maharishi Angira. That Jan Parishad was called Ruling Government.

Foundation of Takshshila University ---
Maharishi Angira was the founder of the Takshshila University for the training and expansion of Aryian culture.

Maharishi Atharva was married with Subha. They born a well famous child Brahaspati. Who became the Guru of God. Brahaspati was the famous in the name of Archieture science.

Later on, in Angira hireachy Vishwakarma was born. Vishwakarma was the son of Bhuwan(grand son of Angira). Shri Vishwakarma was born in Magh Shukla Triyodashi.

Vishwakarma was expert in Art, Science & Archietecture. Shri Vishwakarma build up many Great Buildings and cities for Gods. They made Alkapuri, Shiv Lok, Brahma Lok for Kuber. According to Skand Puran Nagar Part Shri Vishwakarma Invented/prepared many arms. They gifted Kandika to Brahma, Chakra to Vishnu, Trishul to Shiv, Vraj to Indra, Parshu to Agni, Danda to Dharmraj. Shri Vishwakarma also designed wonderful Vimans, such as Garud for Vishnu, Mayur, Pushpak, Shatkumbh, Kamang, Somyan & Vehayas etc.

There were five sons of Shri Vishwakarma which were famous as PanchVidhata  as:

In lower Rajasthan India and District Tharparkar of Sindh Pakistan, The Hindu Community having wood-work occupation is prominently called as “SUTHAR”, whereas in other parts of India the name of community is dominated by local tradition and language of that area.

In Most parts of India “JANGID” term is widely used to identify Suthar, where as the term, Jangid Brahman, Khaati, Venayak, Tirkhan, Barrahi, and wide range of other local term names are popularly used. Jangid community is from race of Rishi AngIra, Shri Vishvikrmaji Mharaj  as mentioned below:

1. MANOO:

           He was master in the Iron work and known as "Lohar"

2. MAYA:

           He was expert in Woodwork and known as "Suterdhar"

3. TAVASHTHA:

          He adopted copper related work and known as "Thathara"

4. SHLIPI:

           He adopted Mud and Stone work and known as "Kumhar"

5. DAVIG:

           He adopted Gold work and known as "Sonar"

HOW SUTHER ARE  CALLED  AS 'BEESOTER' (120 SHASHAN)

Originally Vishvikama Family has 1444 Shashans but in sanwat 989 (about 1078 years back) at Sidpur Patan Gujarat was ruled by  King Jaysingh S/O Haresingh solanki, He was seriously ill of Leprosy (korrh) and when He was not cured with medical treatment, finally persuade  the Pundits and Jyotishi for any other way, and they  has suggested  that he can be cured if a Mander (Temple) with name  “Maha Ruderalya” Temple of  Shiva Bhagwan “RUDER” is constructed through the wans of Shri Vishvikarmaji.

As families of suthar community were not available in the area so King  asked  the Devpalji Bhatt to go Kashipuri, and Mathurapuri where Vishvikarma community was settled to call them and  also widely announced that where ever the community  is settled they should join hands in the construction work of Temple and also offered good emoluments against their work. So the work for construction of Rudermal Mander was started by 8 persons of four shashans  and when they observed that the huge work of construction is not possible by 8 members so they decided to attach some other persons from Rasjput community ( but before allowing this labour the “SHUDHIKARAN” procedure was adoped & for that the “HAWAN” pooja was performed and the persons engaged in work has accepted the Brahman customs by wearing the “JINAO” and clothes as Brahman communities ) and after good-long period a very beautiful Temple “Mha Ruderalia” was constructed under the management of Gangadevji Jangid.

when the Mandir was successfully completed,and King was cured of illness, then he  has granted  various prizes to all the working persons, and after that the Jangid community has seeked permission to go back, but the King has sujested them to settle in Gujrat because the Jangid/Suterdhar community was not available in Gujarat and there was need of such workers.

Shri Dharpal Padva has requested the King that our community in Gujarat is not available and we are only 4 Shasahns came from Kashi an Mathra so we will feel difficulty for marriage e.t.c. therafter King asked them that the workers who has worked with you for a long period and now they will not adopt any other profession but will work as shilpy so you can accept them in your community.

The suggestions of king was accepted and after adopting the proper Shudhi process samaj isthapna was made and   120 goates were completed as  4 Aadoo(Original) goates of Jangid from rishi wans, 4 Sone of Aadoo goates and  112 goats from other communities who performed the work process were accepted,  First of all the “SHUDHI” process of khitri wans  was made and then these Brahman Khitries were accepted in the Jangid Community, hence all these persons accepted in the Jangid community has  withdrawn total relations with  their original cost and accepted/adopted the rules/customs of Jangid Brahman community.

Though some Rajputes has accepted our Jangid Brahmin community and when a river with any identity drops in to a Sea, only the name of Sea remains in existence and the name of that River remains no more. Some of our community persons having less  knowledge accept them selves as Rajput, add the Wansh name of Rajputs as Solanki, Bhati, Chauhan etc. with their name, which is also not correct or acceptable,  we are Brahmins and we have our own identity , Shashans and goter. We have searched and found that only  those people living in Dhat area of Rajasthan and desert area of Sind have mis-understanding of accepting them as rajput and this wil be not more than 3% of total Jangid community which is in Millions who are called as  brahamin , they wear “Jinau” and Dhiti, they never use the turbin/pagri of Rajput Style , they do not wear Rajput  Treta . they do not use opeium/ wine and eat pure vegitaranion. And from appearance they looks like Brahmins.


NOTE: LARGE NUMBER OF OUR COMMUNITY PERSONS MOSTLY WEL EDUCATED AND EMPLOYEE IN VARIOUS SECTORS MOSTLY USE “SHARMA” WITH THEIR NAMES, THERE IS NO ANY DOUBT OF BEING SHARMA AND THERE IS NO ANY OBJECTION TO USE SHARMA WITH THEIR NAME, I HAVE ONLY ONE POINT REGARDING THIS ACT THAT  MOST OF OTHER BRAHMANS USE SHARMA WITH THEIR NAMES, WHILE WE USE ONLY SHARMA WITH THE NAME, HENCE COULDNOT IDENTIFY OUR BASIC IDENTITY OF BEING THE JANGID BRAHMAN , SO PLEASE CONSIDER MY OBESERVATION AND USE SHASHAN OR LIKE IDENTITY SO THAT WE CAN EASILY UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE JANGID/SUTHAR OR VISHVAKARMI ETC
